MOVING PICTURES

This part of Blame Mame is dedicated to some of my favorite scenes, musical numbers, and guest appearances of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

001. 'Put the Blame on Mame' - Rita Hayworth [From the film Gilda]

It only seems fitting to put the video first, as it is the inspiration behind the name of this blog. 'Put the Blame on Mame' was written by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher for the movie Gilda in 1946. Although it would be hard to tell otherwise, this is not Rita Hayworth's singing voice. The voice you hear is that of Anita Kert Ellis.

002. 'Sister Kate' - Betty Grable [From the film Wabash Ave]

The first time I seen this clip was in the Jayne Mansfield movie The Girl Can't Help It. I was instantly hooked to the tune. The musical number comes from the film Wabash Avenue and is performed by Betty Grable. The song was originally written in 1919 by Clarence Williams and Armand Piron.
